Business owners across all industries rely on accountants to keep their financial records happy and healthy. To accomplish that, accountants often need to wrangle, clean and streamline data from different sources to create one easily digestible resource.
For this activity, students will act as accountants for KAT Concession Supply - a fictitious company that supplies food, paper products, and other items to fairs, amusement parks, and other organizations. The company has been tracking their sales data for the last three years, but they've run into multiple errors and irregularities. Students will flex their analytical and reporting skills to clean up the data using Google Sheets.
This activity was created by the team at Accounting is Analytics, an online accounting resource hub for teachers that creates accounting activities for both in-person and virtual classrooms.
