Phillip Tasto

Tax Manager
Moss Adams LLP
Snohomish, WA

Accounting’s not a game to Phillip Tasto. But it might become one.

His alternative work schedule at Moss Adams LLP allows him to develop board games in his free time. Who knows? His next creation might be all about becoming a CPA like he did.

At square one, you’d start out at Harvard University. Then skip ahead one space to the University of Washington, and collect credits toward a business degree. Roll the dice again, and – surprise! – You fall in love with accounting. Finish college, get your CPA certification and you’re on to the next level: an internship with a Big Four firm. That gets you all the way to Zurich, Switzerland – pretty fun, huh?

If you’re anything like Phil, at the current stage of the game, you’d spend your days meeting with colleagues, spending some time on the computer and helping your international clients save money and avoid financial penalties.

In the bonus round, who knows? Phil points out that “being a CPA keeps the door open for lots of other endeavors,” like being the CEO of Nike. That’s right – That other Phil, Mr. Knight, is a CPA too.

More proof that the possibilities are endless – it’s all in how you play the game.
