Michael Crawford

Michael Crawford

Chairman Emeritus
Crawford & Associates PC
Oklahoma City, OK

Michael Crawford wears his passion on his sleeve. Or on his office walls, to be more exact. At the offices of Crawford & Associates in Oklahoma City, you’ll find guitars, gold records, autographed clothing and just about every kind of rock and roll memorabilia you can imagine – all hanging on the walls. It’s like a miniature version of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s Michael’s company, and he loves classic rock from the 60s and 70s. Why not?

Passion is a thread running through Michael’s life. “Find what you enjoy doing in life and do it with a passion!” he says. For him, it comes naturally. Accounting is another of his passions, and it’s served him well. After working for KPMG, an international accounting firm, and serving as the Director of Finance for the city of Edmond, Oklahoma, Michael started his own successful accounting firm.

Today, retired from active practice, Michael is a nationally recognized author and speaker on accounting. “I even wrote a book about my experiences,” he says. “My book A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Work was published by the Oklahoma Society of CPAs.”

Michael’s passion for accounting is closely tied to his belief in its ability to help others. “There’s no greater reward than knowing that you have had a positive impact on the life of another,” he says. “In an accounting career, you have a unique opportunity to positively impact others as part of a profession that people depend on to serve the public interest.” Well said, Michael.
