Regier Carr & Monroe, L.L.P.
McAlester, OK

Growing up, Jimmy Williams’ family didn’t have a lot of money. His parents never graduated from high school. He drove an old clunker while his friends drove new cars, and he worked one grueling Oklahoma summer for a highway construction crew. But he knew there was a better way – not just for him, but for other families as well. That’s one big reason he became a CPA.

“If you want to make a difference in someone’s life, being a CPA is a great career,” Jimmy says. “I truly enjoy helping people achieve their dreams financially.”

And his reasons for choosing to become a CPA don’t stop there. “The background of a CPA provides a stepping stone to many areas of specialization. Plus I enjoy the challenge of an ever-changing profession. The field of accounting is one in which you must continually be learning new skills or improving skills you already possess.”

Along the way, Jimmy has achieved a few of his own dreams. Through the learning opportunities provided by his CPA credential, Jimmy has developed an expertise in wealth management and financial planning. He is the Founder and President of Compass Capital Management, LLC, a registered investment advisory firm.

His passion for helping people realize their financial goals and dreams backed by his strong background in financial matters provided by his CPA experience, has served his clients well. Jimmy and his team actively assist clients and friends with proactive wealth management during tumultuous and volatile economic times. He greets each day as an opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s life.

What else has being a CPA given Jimmy? Plenty of down time. “I spend a lot of my free time with my children. I’m a softball and basketball coach for my daughters' Girls Clubs teams. And I love mountain biking with my family.” Jimmy’s love for children even inspires his volunteer activities. He works with an organization that helps needy children and families get financial support – and important, but sometimes expensive items like eyeglasses.

“My life has been forever motivated and inspired by the people crossing my path. It is truly a wonderful career if you want to make a difference in someone's life.”
