Is Erin Mackler a geek? It doesn't seem like it – she's a devoted mom who's into sports, does yoga and has a successful career as Senior Manager at the AICPA.

She's always challenged and “constantly learning new things,” while enjoying the flexibility to raise her children. Nothing too geeky there, it would seem.

Lots of Erin's friends and family are in cool jobs that they love too. "My husband is a football agent, my cousin is the COO to a famous golf celebrity managing his businesses, one of my friends is a hockey agent, another friend is the CPA to famous celebrities and movie producers…” All of them used their backgrounds in business and finance to land these cool positions. “We get invited to the cool parties and sporting events,” she brags, “…And fly on private jets from time to time!”

So how can she be a geek? It's all about how you define it, or in this case, how she defines it.

Ask her to think back on what she wishes she knew in high school, and Erin shouts to her former self: "Work hard and get good grades... the geeks of high school go on to be the movers and shakers in the real world."

Guess that's you now, Erin. Rock on. And geek out!
