Technical Publications Manager
AICPA (that's us)

The path to becoming a CPA isn’t always a straight line. Just ask Chris Cole. He took plenty of twists and turns to get there.
“I worked as a food and beverage manager at a conference center for five years,” he says. “And then I realized I had a knack for the financial side of the business. So I started taking accounting courses at a local community college while keeping my day job.”
Four years later, Chris got his license as a CPA in North Carolina and worked for several small public accounting firms. Today, he works for the American Institute of CPAs as a technical publications manager. “I get to talk to the smartest people in accounting and auditing every day,” he says. “I work on the cutting edge of not-for-profit accounting.”
Chris’s work is a long way from cheese trays and mixed drinks, but for him it’s all part of the master plan.
